As a first mover, we’re naturally part of the “Companies Integrate Migrants” initiative.

The network has been initially been established by the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) for a period of three years and is being funded by the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. The objectives are as follows:

  • raise the profile of companies who are committed to integrating migrants in Germany
  • provided support for companies active in this area so as to make their efforts even more effective
  • put forward ideas and approaches for companies interested in integrating migrants

Thousands of people are coming to our country looking for a future. Most of them want to become permanently integrated here. Training and employment are key factors. Companies of all sizes, industries and entire regions are already involved – there is no shortage of openness and commitment. However, this is a lack of knowledge and experience as to how integration can be successfully managed in practical terms.

This is where our network comes in. We get together to look for answers to questions such as: How is it possible to get to know migrants and assess their qualifications? What factors need to be taken into account in relation to initial and further training? What support do they need on a day-to-day basis at work? What do employees need in order to accept their new colleagues? And what can companies do on a voluntary basis? We are developing the network into a practical platform. In doing so, we don’t try to hide problems but adopt a proactive approach in integrating migrants.
